Comparing energy efficiency policies and renovation initiatives in CEE and the Western Balkans

The Renocally project is organising a webinar on 6 June to share and compare energy efficiency policies and renovation initiatives in Central and Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans. The webinar will also touch upon opportunities and challenges for public authorities and present practical cases from Slovakia, Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Public authorities in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and the Western Balkans play a key role in decarbonising buildings, and share challenges related to increasing upfront costs, limited budgets, and need for technical assistance when renovating buildings.

This webinar will assess implications of provisions in the newly adopted EPBD recast and other policy files for public authorities and will include a brief overview of the national energy efficiency policy in Serbia. Several practical solutions will be presented on approaches taken by public authorities to increase renovation rates. This includes examples of programmes developed to renovate public buildings in Serbia, insights from developing financial mechanisms for public authorities in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and lessons from developing a renovation passport for a public building in Slovakia.

Presentations will be followed by a panel discussion and the audience will be given the floor to ask questions.
