Shaping National Building Renovation Plans: Addressing Policy Needs in Focus Countries

The recast Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) sets an ambitious goal for Member States to transform their building stock into highly energy-efficient, decarbonised structures by 2050. A cornerstone of this directive is the requirement for National Building Renovation Plans (NBRPs) to outline strategies for achieving these objectives, while the introduction of zero-emission buildings (ZEBs) pushes for even more stringent energy efficiency and sustainability standards.

As part of the EPBD.wise, an EU LIFE funded project, this webinar with Lukas Kranzl will provide insights into the challenges, policy needs, and strategies for implementing NBRPs and ZEBs identified in six focus countries: Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Ukraine.

What you’ll learn:

  • Key requirements: The role of building renovation plans and zero-emission buildings in achieving a decarbonised building stock.
  • Policy challenges and priorities: Gaps in data, the list of the top priorities for the member states and strategies to achieve the directives goals.
  • Country insights: Several issues as well as possibilities from the six focus countries.
  • Best Practices: Successful EU examples of renovation strategies, financing models, and stakeholder engagement.

Who should attend?

This webinar is targeted specifically at EU national policymakers who will have a role in EPBD implementation. It will also be helpful to industry stakeholders and professionals interested in advancing sustainable building policies, understanding new regulatory frameworks, and learning practical strategies for NBRP and ZEB implementation.

Join the EPBD.wise project, hosted by the Leonardo Academy’s Zero Emission Building Academy on 09/12/2024 from 14:00 to 15:00 to learn about first insights into challenges and strategies that member states should address to ensure successful implementation of their National Building Renovation Plans and the new Zero-Emission Buildings standard.
