EPBD.wise is especially timely as negotiations are ongoing to reach a final agreement on the revised EPBD, which includes several policy instruments elements to move towards a decarbonised building stock in line with our climate goals. The project will support public authorities in six focus countries to design, implement and evaluate these key instruments introduced by the Commission’s EPBD proposal, including: the new zero-emission building standard, National Building Renovation Plans (NBRP), Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS), Building Renovation Passports (BRPs) and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). It will also strive to offer a consistent approach for implementing policies stemming from EPBD and build a replicable model to support this implementation across the EU.

Taking place on 17-18 October in Vienna at TU Wien, the kick-off meeting of the three-year project saw the different partners come together to share their planned activities and expectations, and discussions were held on the challenges and opportunities of the project to support a successful EPBD implementation.
