#Build2050 conference – Green Energy and Heating for Buildings in Europe 2050

The European Heating Industry Association is organising a one-day conference on the future of heating for buildings in Europe: #Build2050.

Date: Tuesday, 25 September 2018
Location: Brussels, Belgium
When: From 9:30 – 16:00

This event will be bringing together representatives of the European Institutions and of the energy efficiency community, with the players who provide green energies and technologies for buildings. From innovative suppliers to distributors of energy; from manufacturers of advanced climatization technologies, to providers of new building services.

And what’s the objective? The European Climate goals for 2050 and the Paris agreement call for a fundamental reduction of carbon emissions from buildings. Such an important task cannot be achieved by a specific sector, separately from the others. In the era of sector-coupling and smart home technologies, what we need is a unified approach for buildings.

How to achieve it? Industry will act, but only the institutions can provide the framework. This is why, several Members of the European Parliament will be there, to present their views on how to reach a decarbonized building sector by 2050. This will provide an exciting occasion to hear their ideas, ahead of the 2019 European elections.

Julian Popov, member of the BPIE’s board of directors will be one of the speakers.
