From Ambition to Action: How to best deliver European building sector policies on the ground

BPIE, in collaboration with EBC, organised on June 26th a high-level policy conference within the context of the Brussels’ European Sustainable Energy week (EUSEW) entitled From Ambition to Action: How to best deliver European building sector policies on the ground.

The first panel gathered representatives from five DGs, a representative from the EESC and the GBPN to discuss the European vision on a sustainable built environment and the growing need for alignment, increased collaboration and a shared, long-term strategy.

The second panel mirrored the EU vision with the Member States perspective by debating the implementation challenges on the ground.

The conference brought together over 120 participants mainly policy makers from the European Member States, building sector professionals, researchers and the Brussels energy efficiency community. The interactive format of the conference was highly appreciated (also due to a voting system) and offered the opportunity to exchange concrete ideas and views beyond the standard political talks.
